Garden St Extension Approved!

The Garden Street Extension (Harpenden to Holmes) has been approved in Huntingdale and Southern River.

I want to thank the Council Elected Members and Staff for their advocacy and working with myself & Govt over many years to get this done.

Garden Street currently stops at Harpenden st and this will now have a roundabout, noise walls, 1480metres of new road to connect to a new roundabout on Holmes st (not far from the Youth Plaza).

This means less cars on Harpenden st and less cars on Holmes st - and will make everyone's journey to and from Garden St and Roe Hwy & Nicholson Rd train station a lot easier.

This is another major Infrastructure investment of over $7 million to the Council with WA Govt providing 2/3 of the funding and 1/3 Council.

Clearing works have commenced and the funding is confirmed. We hope to have the road extension completed next year.
