$35 Million for the Indoor Pool at Sutherlands Park

We have had a win! Gosnells Council confirms they have $35 million for the Mayor’s Indoor Pool at Sutherlands Park (Stage 1 of SPLASH)

Gosnells Council confirms they have $35 million for the Indoor Pool at Sutherlands Park (Stage 1 of SPLASH)

I will continue to work with the Gosnells Council to build the Indoor Pool at Sutherlands Park as Stage 1 of Splash (just like we did with the Youth Plaza)

Documents from the City of Gosnells ordinary council meeting (OCM) in May 2025 confirm that the Council has allocated $35 million for the Sutherlands Park Indoor Pool project.

The Armadale Pool build was $26 million and is a good design for our Pool (and cost $26 million)

As promised at the election, the WA Govt has contributed $2 million to the Indoor Pool, and Matt Keogh and the Federal Govt have contributed more than $10 million from the Thriving Suburbs grant to Sutherlands Park, including a permanent toilet at the Youth Plaza.

The $35 million of allocated funding is more than enough to start building the Indoor Pool and should now confirm what progress can be made in 2025, for example a tender for detailed design.

Despite the Indoor Pool and Splash being endorsed by several Gosnells Councillors who are Liberal Party members, the Liberals promised $0 for the project.

Once the Indoor Pool is complete, as discussed with Council, I will start advocating for more funding for the outdoor pool in Stage 2, then the basketball courts in Stage 3.

I thank every member of the community who signed the SPLASH petition and voted Labor at the WA election to confirm our election commitment of $2 million to the indoor pool.

The Council will now determine the timing for this Project and they need to hear from you if you support them building the Pool NOW or in a few years
